Over the last 24 hours Russian occupation forces opened fire 24 times on Ukrainian government forces, wounding four soldiers, the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters has said.
"Over the last 24 hours there have been two dozen ceasefire violations from Russian occupation forces. More than half of them were suppressed by ATO forces. As a result of enemy shelling, four Ukrainian soldiers were wounded," the ATO HQ's Facebook page said on Friday morning.
During the evening, 120mm and 82mm mortar shelling and grenade launcher fire was observed near the villages of Luhanske, Troyitske, Novo-Oleksandrivka, and Triokhizbenka in the Luhansk sector. Armed military groups firing from an armored personnel carrier violated the ceasefire near the town of Svitlodarsk.
Russian occupation forces in the Donetsk sector concentrated their fire near the town of Maryinka, firing mortars of different calibers and all manner of infantry weapons continuously during the first half of the day. A tank fired at Ukrainian government positions in the evening.
The situation was also tense near the villages of Pisky, Verkhniotoretske, Vodiane, Lebedynske and Talakivka, where armed militants fired on Ukrainian army positions various types of mortars and infantry weapons.
