In connection with the situation caused by the statements in the live broadcast of the owner of the "NewsOne" channel, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting fully supports the position of the President of Ukraine on the inadmissibility of "promoting Russian propaganda, including in such matters as the assessment of the Dignity Revolution ."
At the same time, the regulator considers it unacceptable to block the work of domestic media, the press service of the National Council reports.
"The National Council, which consistently advocates respect for the principles of freedom of speech and journalistic standards, believes that blocking the work of domestic media and any other obstacles to the activities of law-abiding media in Ukraine is inadmissible. At the same time, in conditions of information aggression, occupation of certain territories of Ukraine and armed struggle for independence and state sovereignty, information resources in the country should be more responsible, and the regulator should have effective mechanisms for responding to the challenges that arise in the media sphere, " said in a statement.
Recall that on December 3, the "NewsOne" TV channel announced that the entrance to the editorial office was blocked by unknown people in military uniforms. People's deputy Yevgen Murayev, who owns the TV channel, said that the head of the "Brotherhood" Dmytro Korchynsky is responsible for blocking.
Korchynsky himself confirmed this on Facebook and announced the demands of the blockers. According to him, they demand an apology from Muraeyv, who called the Revolution of Dignity a "coup d'état."
