The Kyiv Obolonsky District Court has rescheduled the trial of the high treason case involving Ukraine's ex-president Viktor Yanukovych for 10:00 a.m. on June 29.The court agreed with the arguments presented by the defense lawyer for Yanukovych that, in accordance with the legislation, the accused has to fail to show up in court again for a decision to be made to hold a special hearing of the high treason case involving the ex-president (in absentia).
The first hearing of the high treason case against Yanukovych, for which Yanukovych failed to show up, was held in the Obolonsky District Court on Monday, June 26.According to the agenda posted on the website of the Obolonsky District Court, Yanukovych has been summoned to ten hearings scheduled for June 26, June 29, July 6, July 12, July 13, August 3, August 10, August 17, August 23, and August 31, 2017.
