In 2016 the city authorities almost doubled spending on preparations for the new academic year, which is over UAH one billion, deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration Hanna Starostenko said.
In general, she said, more than 30 percent of the city budget was allocated to the education sector. In particular, the Kyiv authorities have pledged one hundred percent financing of vocational educational institutions.
Soon, the city plans to open two new schools and seven kindergartens. Teachers, according to Starostenko, will be able to get target grants from the city authorities.
