Ukraine has taken 44th place in the global passport ranking, significantly improving its positions due to obtaining visa-free access to the Schengen countries in 2017 and thus leaving behind all countries of the former Soviet Union.
As a result of Ukraine's visa-free regime, the value of our country's passport has risen by 14 positions.
According to the 2018 Henley & Partners Passport Index, which takes into account how many countries can be visited without applying for a visa the Ukrainian passport is 44th in global passport ranking .
Citizens of the country can visit without a visa 114 countries. This was achieved due to obtaining visa-free access to the Schengen countries in 2017, which raised the country in the ranking by 14 positions.
Thus, in the list of CIS countries, Ukraine has gained a leading position. The second place is divided between Russia and Moldova - citizens of the countries can visit without a visa 110 countries.
Recall that in the rating of citizenship of the world in 2016, Ukraine remained in the middle level group. The country is located on the 99th place. In 2015, the Ukrainian passport was at the 87th place. At the same time, the best indicators were in 2013 - 2014.
