One Ukrainian serviceman has been wounded in two enemy attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas over the past 24 hours, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.
"The positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have come under fire two times over the past 24 hours... One serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was wounded in the fighting. He was immediately taken to a military hospital and provided with the necessary medical care. Nothing threatens his life," the ATO HQ's press center reported on January 5.
The press center reported that the ceasefire had been violated in the Luhansk sector for the first time in the past three days. In the evening on January 4, militants launched ten 120mm mines at fortified Ukrainian positions near Luhanske.
In the Donetsk sector, militants fired from grenade launchers and small arms, as well as from 120mm mortars near Verkhniotoretske.
"No ceasefire violations were recorded in other areas of our defense. Ukrainian soldiers did not return fire," reads the report.
