The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine has announced the signing of long-term agreements with drug manufacturers, which will enable them to reduce medications prices.
This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.
"Long-term agreements with manufacturers are a global practice that is used in the EU, the United States, in the procurement system of the United Nations and most developed countries of the world. The signing of these agreements will allow our country to additionally receive a discount on medications up to 20% and ensure their permanent presence in hospitals for patients", said the Acting Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun.
In total, agreements were signed with four international manufacturers to supply 11 drugs - for the treatment of rare diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Gaucher disease, mucopolysaccharidosis, cystic fibrosis, other orphan metabolic diseases, hemophilia, as well as drugs for stopping bleeding.
The first deliveries under contracts are expected in Ukraine in two weeks.
