The European Union has continued the Advisory Mission to Ukraine on reforming the civilian security sector and approved a budget of EUR 32 million over the next year and a half.

"On November 20, the EU Council extended the mandate of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine until May 31, 2019, and approved a budget of EUR 32 million over the next 18 months," the EU's governing body said.
As it is reminded, the EU Mission to the EU Civil Protection Security Sector (EUAM) was launched in December 2014. The aim of the mission is to assist the reform process of law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, including the prosecutor's office. The EUAM mission in Ukraine has representative offices in Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv. In the near future, it is planned to open the headquarters also in Odessa.
