The public order during the celebration of the Jewish New Year in Uman, Cherkasy region, will be provided by about 500 Ukrainian law-enforcement officers and at least 15 Israeli police officers.
This is informed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"Traditionally, security measures will be carried out by police jointly with the National Guard, and this year about 500 policemen, as well as at least 15 Police officers of the State of Israel, will be involved in ensuring public safety security. In addition a new unit - tactical police, will be involved in keeping public order, the main task of which is to ensure law and order during mass events, "a statement says.
The head of the National Police Sergei Knyazev emphasized that it is important for the National Police to ensure and maintain security during the event so that all pilgrims arriving in Uman feel calm.
Recall that every year in September, during the celebration of the Jewish New Year (Rosh-a-Shana), the Hasidians from all over the world go to the grave of their spiritual mentor - Tsadik Nakhman in Uman. According to preliminary estimates, nearly 40 thousand Hasidians are expected to arrive this year to the district center of Cherkasy region.
