Over the past day, militants have almost doubled the number of shelling of Ukrainian positions, increasingly using heavy weapons: two Ukrainian defenders have been injured, and three more - military injuries, the press center of the ATO headquarters has reported.
"Over the past day there have been 47 ceasefire breaches by the militants. Ukrainian soldiers intensively fired for effect in most cases of attacks on our positions. Two Ukrainian defenders were wounded and three more sustained combat injuries as a result," the ATO staff said.
The hottest situation in the evening and at night was in the Donetsk sector. It said the enemy shelled strongholds in the Avdiyivka industrial zone using grenade launchers, heavy machineguns, mortars, and a man-portable Grad rocket launcher in the Donetsk sector. Mortars were fired twice in the vicinity of Opytne, and 122mm artillery shelled Ukrainian positions near Kamyanka and Pisky.
In the Mariupol sector, grenade launchers and small arms were used against strongholds in the vicinity of Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Pavlopil, Maryinka and Talakivka, while small arms were fired on Maryinka, the staff said.
In the Luhansk sector, Ukrainian army positions came under attack of grenade launchers near Krymske and Novo-Oleksandrivka, the staff said.
