At the RTS Chongar in the Kherson region, a test broadcast of the TV channels in the occupied Crimea was started in the test mode.
This was reported on Facebook by a member of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting Serhiy Kostynsky.
"On the territory of the Northern Crimea in the DVB-T2 standard UA: CRIMEA (NSTU), Channel 5, Direct Channel (Tonis), ICTV, Black Sea TV and Radio Company are broadcasting," he wrote. According to Kostynsky, from September 1 the multiplex will start working in standard mode, with a power of 0.3 kW. From November 1 - with a power of 1 kW.
"I ask the compatriots living in Yana Kapu (Krasnoperekopsk), Dzhankoy, Krasnoperekopsk and Dzhankoi districts to aim their digital antennas to Chongar, catch a signal and record the Ukrainian broadcast on the video," he added.
As reported, the Commission on Securing Television and Radio Broadcasting under the Ministry of Information Policy has plans to expand Ukrainian broadcasting in the occupied Crimea. According to State Secretary Ministry of Information policy Artyom Bidenko, a signal from the Chongar Tower built in December, reaches Dzhankoy and even the suburb of Sudak.
