As the First Deputy Information Policy Minister of Ukraine noted, Ukraine has made a number of important steps after the dramatic events – the occupation of Crimea by Russia. In particular, Ukraine recognized the Crimean Tatars as the indigenous people, endowing them with the broader powers, up to the right for the national identity. At the same time, the leaders of the Mejlis speak of the broad autonomy, which, according to Emine Dzheppar, is "a good tool for the de-occupation." "We are not separatists, we see our future as part of Ukraine," she stressed. According to Dzheppar, her department is now elaborating a document on the information reintegration of the peninsula.
