Ukraine’s international reserves fall to $15.2 billion

“Gontareva voiced these figures during a regular meeting with representatives of the largest banks. According to the NBU governor, the current forecast for currency reserves projected at 17.5 billion dollars by yearend will be reconsidered, since Ukraine will not receive the fourth tranche of the International Monetary Fund loan in the amount of 1.3 billion dollars until the end of the year,” the source said. “We won’t be able to reach the previously projected level, now the situation is not critical, but next year it could become a threat to financial stability,” Gontareva stressed. The NBU head also noted that Ukraine next year must to pay off over $1 billion to the IMF and $1.6 billion on external debts.
