Places of smoldering peat are observed in 5 districts of Kyiv region - Vyshgorod, Brovary, Borodyanka, Ivankov and Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky. More than 230 firefighters and 59 vehicle are working to extinguish them, say in the State Emergency Service.
The Service says of the need for environmental assessments and expert calculations. Problems of choking, smog and illness caused by peat smoldering continue to hang over Ukrainian population.
