Memory of Ukrainians killed during Holodomor of 1932-33 commemorated in United States


In the United States, a week of events kicked off to commemorate innocent Ukrainians who were killed during the Holodomor of 1932-33, which was artificially created by the Stalinist regime. The first events took place this weekend.

As Ukrainian Radion own correspondent in the USA Alisa Prozhogina reported,a commemorative event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine took place in New York on the initiative of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America. A mournful procession began in the morning from the Church of St. George and ended at the St. Patrick's Cathedral. To the procession in the streets of the metropolis was joined by Ambassadors of Ukraine to the United States and the United Nations Valery Chaly and Volodymyr Yelchenko, ATO veterans who are being treated in the USA, as well as representatives of American authorities of various levels.
