Ukrainian exports to Belarus increases

During the first 5 months of 2017, Ukraine's exports to the Republic of Belarus increased by 45% compared to the same period of 2016.

This was announced by President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Gennady Chizhikov at the Ukrainian-Belarusian Business Forum.

"We now have good indicators of bilateral trade, although they did not reach the record of 2012. The dynamics are optimistic: in 5 months of 2017, Ukrainian exports to Belarus increased by 45% compared to the same period last year, and imports have also increased," Chizhikov said.

He added that Ukrainian and Belarusian companies could cooperate in expanding exports to European countries. Indeed, according to the trade preferences that the European Union provides today to Ukraine, up to 70% of raw materials and components imported from Ukraine may be imported from another country and this may be Belarus.
