President: Murder of Voronenkov is act of Russia’s ‘state terrorism’

"The insidious murder of Denis Voronenkov in Kyiv city center is the act of Russia’s ‘state terrorism’. Voronenkov was forced to leave Russia for political reasons. There is an obvious pattern of the Russian special services, which earlier was repeatedly shown in several European capitals," the President said during the meeting. He stressed that Voronenkov had been one of the main witnesses of Russian aggression and, in particular, the role of fugitive president Yanukovych in sending Russian troops to Ukraine. As reported, Denis Voronenkov, a former deputy of Russia’s State Duma was shot dead near the Premier Palace Hotel in the center of Kyiv this afternoon. Voronenkov left Russia in the autumn of 2016 because of criminal prosecution. In December, he received Ukrainian citizenship. He is a witness in the treason case against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
